Actually I might have mis-spoken about "tens of thousands of dollars". And it was Windows version 1.0 that has value - not 2.0, 3.0, etc. I sorta recall hearing Patrick Norton (who is a well know techie) say he had paid several hundred dollars for an unopened version of Win 1.0, and now it was worth thousands. I don't think many copies of 1.0 were packaged, but 3.x was very popular so there are lots of them around, and they aren't worth anything special. Also, all versions of DOS seem to be plentiful and readily available - so they don't have much value. I always check Ebay to find an estimated value of anything.
