I looked at your pictures. The second one showing the round thingy's are printed circuit runs. When you pressed a button, it made a connection between the runs of that button...a switch in other words. Four of them looked like they received a lot of use and are probably the problem. Hard to tell from the picture, but those four may just be heavily oxidized from use. Try cleaning them with an ordinary eraser and see if they get shiny. If so, wipe them off with cleaner and try it again. Clean the bottom side of the buttons too. If there's no copper left on those pads, you may be dead in the water. Your batteries are good, of course, right?
