There are lots of free encryption apps. TrueCrypt is a very popular one: http://download.cnet.com/TrueCrypt/3000-2092_4-10527243.html
It will encrypt your USB thumbdrive data with professional level encryption, and let you create a password for it. I've never used the program, but there's a lotta info about it on their website: http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/ Just don't ever (EVER) forget your password or your data will be gone for good. :-) Good luck, Donk On 7/17/2011 3:59 PM, kevin19_89 wrote: > i got a flash drive i keep ALL my personal info on. is there any free > security software that i can put on it where it can't be accessed without a > password and have write protection where it can't be formatted? my mom is > always using it and i told her to use my others and she thinks they wont fit > cause they are wider and it isnt lol. she is always formatting it AFTER using > it and i lose all my data. thanks > ------------------------------------ If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [email protected] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
