I'm not sure how typing "pictures" in the search box would display all 
of your images, but I believe you.

The easiest thing I could suggest is clicking the Start button, then 
clicking "My Pictures". That should give you access to all your personal 
images. Some might be in separate folders, but you can change this by 
copying them all into one folder.  Also, if you double click on any 
photo it will open in Windows Picture And Fax Viewer (unless you've 
installed a 3rd party image editor).
