Actually, I posted this because I enjoy following the markets and this was an historic event. The last couple of days have been a wild volatility ride.
But, now that you mention it... ...this historic event followed closely behind an historic flooding event in the TN valley...which followed two historic earthquakes (Chile & Haiti) and an historic snow event along the entire US east coast earlier this year... ...hmmm....maybe you're right...there IS a noticeable increase in the frequency and intensity of unusually extreme events...
