Thanks for the links...I'll have a look.  In the meantime, I'm really trying
to hear an articulation of the underlying philosophy that is the basis for
the expectation that the Long Count Calendar has an influence on mankind.
 Since there's possibly a correlation with Taoism, I was thinking that
particular belief set might provide the answer.
