Being an anonymous project for the most part, we officially know about  
the progress only as much as is reported on the project web site. Let  
me say though that we are confident to show decent results at the 26C3.

The crack phase is mostly limited by storage access time. When storing  
the tables locally on hard disks, a CPU will be fast enough not to be  
the bottleneck. When faster storage such as SSDs is available, GPUs  
lower the crack time significantly.
