For those living outside the UK, Lewes and several other towns in south-east
England have had severe flooding over the last few days. Miraculously,
nobody died. The worst news is that Harvey's Brewery was flooded!
Fortunately, both folk clubs are at the top end of town. More seriously, a
lot of people have had their homes ruined and will have a hard time for weeks
if not months. For the gory detils see the websites of our local papers
www.sussexexpress.co.uk/ and www.thisisbrightonandhove.co.uk/.

Thanks for the concern Laurie. I got off pretty lightly. I live a little
way out of town but a lot of the water from the surrounding countryside made
its way to Lewes through the village and through my house. I've got soggy
carpets and some ruined books, magazines and sheet music. Thankfully, all
musical instruments were off the floor.
