Phil Taylor notes that the standard has:

There is a minor error here. 3/4 shouldn't be in the list of compound
meters. The rule should read:

If the time signature is compound (3/8, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8 etc.) then
n is three, otherwise n is two.

(3/4 is not a compound meter; a quintuplet of eighth-notes in a waltz
counts as one beat, not as a dotted eighth. Someone should probably fix
this. I may have been responsible for this typo, ultimately. Sorry. )
