I guess somebody might argue that these fields shouldn't be part of abc,
since they deal with specific music features like typesetting and playing.
IMO, however, s: and m: (call them whatever we like) fill a hole in the abc
standard and should be part of the language. It's interesting to see how
your implementation of %%staves allows much more music to be typeset nicely
than abc 1.6.
I'm not really proficient in music writing and I cannot say if the current
implementation is 100% complete, but it's definitely better than nothing.
So, to sum up, I thoroughly back your proposal for the V: field and invite
you to write down a definition for s:
If a MIDI guy could contribute m:, what a great leap forward for abc!
