What??  You forgot the most important one!  MIDI files are cross-platform 
and they are "notated" in the sense that they have "notes" in them.  MIDI 
is not a wave format like MP3.  A midi file has tempo marking, key 
signature, time signature, and dynamics.  Some MIDI files are better than 
others, but a good algorithm can often print pretty good sheet music from a 
MIDI.

There are FAR more midi files on the internet than ABC.   musicrobot.com 
claims over 1 million midi files!
