Having addressed the problem of parsing abc2win's !, there is still the
problem that you won't know where the staff breaks are unless you know
if you have abc2win or non-abc2win code. This means that treating the
abc2win ! as an addition to abc syntax isn't going to work. It is just
one of those things that seems to have become a "feature" rather than
getting fixed in abc2win. Thus we have an incompatible variant thread
of abc despite the fact that everyone noticed the problem years ago.
Sigh.
