That's the only one I've tried, and it was seriously incomplete when I
tried it. That is, it crashed on all the ABC I tried to feed it. He
promised to let me know when he had something better for me to test,
and never did. So I would guess that was never more than the
beginning of a project.
There are certainly text editors for the pilot, and there may by now
be MIDI players, although I haven't used them. People are looking at
porting languages like python and java, so I would guess that we
aren't too far from being able to use one of the pilot-like machines
with better audio than the originals in the way you suggest. But I
don't know what to tell you to buy or download at the moment.
Another line of inquiry might be the various LINUX on a PDA projects
going on, but I don't know how well any of them are doing sound
applications yet.
