There is now a new version of the syntax and standards, abccheck available on
my website - http://members.aol.com/abacusmusic/ where you will also find
abc2nwc.
The new version of abccheck works as a sort of abc-aware Notepad with the
simple editing capability which that implies. Perhaps most importantly, you
can copy and paste abc tunes from emails directly into it, check for errors,
edit and save.
abccheck is freeware. abc2nwc is shareware at �7 or $10.
