Hello,
I've just finished writing a Perl script that will transpose abc files.
The source code can be found at:
http://tunes.hypermart.net/cgi-bin/transpose_abc.txt
To run it, you would have to save the source code with a ".pl" extension,
e.g., "transpose_abc.pl". Then you'd need some way of executing the script
from the command line on your computer (or whatever the equivalent is in Mac
OS 9 and earlier). For Windows, Linux, and Solaris, you can use the free
ActivePerl distribution:
http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Downloads/ActivePerl/
I suspect that Mac users already have excellent tools for transposing abc. I
didn't find anything that worked well in Windows2000, or was cheap enough for
my stingy self, hence the script.
If anybody wants to take the transpose_abc script and turn it into a CGI
script, be my guest. I thought about doing that, but the banner ads, popups,
and obscure error messages on my web host's server make my own website a poor
place for serving CGI scripts.
Yours,
