Yes and no. There seems to be a general agreement not to include it in
the ABC standard. However, there is no reason why you can't write with
German note names and then have your computer convert it to standard
ABC. There already is a script for making that conversion. Unfortunately
it seems nobody can remember the URL (I'm sure it'll come up soon, though.)

A very interesting subject.
Or actually *two* very interesting subjects.
The sum__-mer part is perfectly legal ABC. You'll have to be careful
with exactly how many "-" and "_" signs you use, of course, and if I
were you, I'd change it to "sum-__ mer" to conform with ordinary word
division rules. It is however more common both in ABC and standard
notation to use multiple "-" signs ("sum--mer") or just a single line
and some empty space ("sum-**mer") instead.
As for the "day_.", I wondered about this myself when I started using a
computer for music notation. I too was used to writing the "word
extension" (that's what Finale calls the underline) before the
punctuation, and I couldn't figure out why Finale wouldn't let me. But a
search through all the printed vocal music I could find - all kinds of
musical styles and ages - didn't come up with *one single* example of
this way of notating. So apparently every single music engraver who has
ever lived on this planet thought "day._" would be the correct way to do
it. I didn't feel like putting up a fight against that kind of odds ;-)
Later, after loosing some hair and gaining some weight and years and
(hopefully) wisdom, I've started to see their point. I'm still not
completely convinced though.
