I can't remember your original message, I'm afraid, but abcm2ps will merge
lots of voices (up to three, at least) onto a single staff, and it does so
quite nicely. New releases are made quite frequently, too, which is great.
I use it on Linux all the time. In order to have five voices, say, SATBB,
on three staves, you'd go:

C:...
M:...
L:...
Q:...
K:...
%%staves [(1 2) (3 4) 5]
V:1
[stuff here]
V:2
[stuff here]
V:3
[stuff here]

[stuff here]

[stuff here]
