I'll chime in with another vote to limit posting to subscribers.

And while we're on the spam topic, there's an interesting notice over
at slashdot:

"East Side Journal reports that without telling anyone, Microsoft
has suddenly changed the privacy preferences for all Hotmail users.
They're now sharing your name and other personal information with
third parties, even if you said you didn't want that when you
signed up. (If you're a user, login, go to Options > Personal
Profile, and un-check the boxes at the bottom of that page.)"

Yahoo did this last month, of course. The lack of any punishment for
this act seems to have encouraged Microsoft to follow suit. And, if
you're a hotmail subscriber, it may be too late to fix it. By the
time you turn your settings off, they've likely sold their mailing
list to N spammers already, who are in turn selling it to others.

Others have observed that only a few browsers are able to get access
to the Personal Profile pages. IE can, of course, and some versions
of Netscape. Most others just get a notice that you're not using an
approved browser. Opera users can tell it to fake an IE id. Most
others will be locked out by their valid-browser check.
