I had something like that, yes, and it looke pretty fine here through gv, but then I looked at a pdf-version on a mac...:-( Top of page missing both on screen and paper... *That's* what I don't get and am asking for. I have no problem finding nice settings here, but apparently a pdf is not a pdf as I assumed... I must admit I don't understand the inner workings of neither abcm2ps, postscript, gv, ps2pdf or pdf, but it must be possible to produce a single pdf that will print beautifully on any platform.
