Many thanks to Phil Taykor and Jack Campin.

I've lookd at few tunes so far by % of time on each note, but they seem
to be quite variable within a mode. I've looked at ABCs of some tunes
among the broadside ballad ones on my website. They sure liked
accidentals in the 17th century. Among the 550 tunes there I only found
5 7-note minors, but many scored minor. Same for mixolydian. Most have
more than 7 notes
