Hi, I think this is my firt post to this list. I have been monitoring the ABC users list for a while now and I am not quite sure if this is on topic because I have not seen to much music related. Anyway, if this is the wrong forum then hopefully somebody will kindly point me to a better place to ask again.
I have been to St.Chartier this Year and everybody was playing this syncopated scottish: X:1 T:Sycopated Scottish we danced in St Chartier 2002 M:4/4 L:1/8 Q:1/4=170 K:Em A-|ABcA B2 B A-|ABcA B2 B A-|ABcd e2 dc|1 Bc B2 A3:|2 Bc B2 A4| |: gege g2 e f-|fdfd f2 d e-|efg a2 g f2| efg a-a4| agf e2 c3|gfe d2 B3 |ABcd e2 dc|Bc B2 A4 :| It did not write the melody down then and so I forgot it - until today when it suddenly came back to my mind. I've now been sitting here all the day humming the tune. Does anybody know the origins of this dance? I would be glad to hear more about it.
