While going through Jack's Embro... CD, I noticed that iabc will accept this:
(abc)>d but chokes on this: (abc>)d I guess the thinking is that the '>' goes with the next thing, but the ')' goes with the previous thing. The latter to me would be equivalent to: abc_)d which is clearly wrong, since the flat goes with the 'd' but the ')' goes with the 'c'. Does anything written specify which way this is supposed to work? In the next iabc release I will have a boatload of GUI flags that you can check that allow you to specify which 'non-standard' abc options iabc will accept. I think this is better than adding checks for hundreds of things that slow down the parser even more.
