I probably created the patch in 'reverse', that is, I made a patch that turns the new version of abc.vim into the old one. The error you get is what happens if you try to apply a patch to a file that already has the necessary changes. Un*x is a wonderful platform, but one has to know how to use all them nifty tools correctly, eh? ;-)

Here is the complete patched abc.vim file, gzipped. If that doesn't work I don't know what will... ;-)
