Failure mode when dependencies are missing is totally uninformative
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: ABDERA-29
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ABDERA-29
Project: Abdera
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Garrett Rooney
When Abdera is used in an environment where necessary jars are missing (the JAF
stuff in the case I just encountered) the failure mode (null pointer return
values from things like Abdera.getNewFactory()) is basically impossible to
diagnose. Sure, you can tell something is wrong, but there's no indication as
to WHAT is wrong.
