Suggested new text:
However, federation does not preclude the possibility of a pre-existing
relationship existing between the RP and the Subject, nor that they may
use the introduction to create a new long-term relationship independent of
the federation.
Two issues addressed -
1. some grammatical errors
2. The concept of creating a new independent relationship based on the
federation introduction.
