Well my report is working out nicely in abi-word. Here are my list of annoyances that i have and some features that I would like to see added: Annoyances: 1. Screen redraws after you use the right click on word spell check/replace, and the page doesn't always end up in exactly the same position it was before. Still a nifty feature but gets annoying after a while. 2. Random, non reproduceable segfaults when i hit the arrow keys and then the backspace key. this only seemed to happen after i got to the latter half of the second page of my report. I tried to reproduce it but i was unsuccessful. I will try again in a few days after my paper is turned in, 3. Very slow redraw when unrolling the window in WindowMaker. 4. Select all causes segfaults after documents get past about the middle of the second page. I logged this as bug 633 (http://www.abisource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=633). 5. The printed out-put when printed to a file doesn't always resemble the on screen document. What i mean by this is that the printed output is often longer than the document looks in abiword. Another problem I have had on this report is that my text on the third page was cut off like it was going to wrap it to a 4th page on output but the 4th page was not there. I had to insert a pagebreak after the last character of the paper to get it to show the last block of text on the printed output. This is a major problem but I am still testing when it happens and seeing about other workarounds. Now the features I would like to see: 1. Detect and either change or red squiggily if I use an 'i' instead of 'I' in a paper. I have a problem with doing that and I know some word processers check for this and change it accordingly. 2. A print preview function. I was thinking that you might beable to use gv for this...atleast on the *nix side. LyX does something like it with thier "View Postscript" function. could be very useful. I turned in the rough draft today but i had to save it as a html file and then upload it to my ASU account and print it out that way. As for the printing problems I can not be a great source of debugging info because i do not have a printer. I just print to a file and then ps2pdf it to a pdf and then upload and print from someplace on campus. On a side note Abiword is mentioned in the Linux Magazine november issue under the Linux Office Suite roundup.
