Subject: Open Standard for Open Source WP Storage/Interchange Format

As a long shot, on the theme of your Open Source wordprocessor using Open
Standards, why not take a look at the ISO Office Document Architecture
Standard, ISO 8613. In summary think of it as SGML with programable DTDs
Plus DSSSL all in one open standard.

Some years ago a group of companies, which included IBM formed a consortium
to produce an ODA Toolkit. Not sure what became of the toolkit nor the
consortium. If your're interested I might know someone who can answer any
questions.

These days XML might be a better approach, use of ODA was just an idea.
