Okay, this morning (Mon May 3 08:53:13 CDT 1999) I did:
        rm -rf abi expat
        cvs -z3 checkout abi expat

just to make sure I had a completely clean, really fresh, cvs tree.

Re-built expat and abi. Here are the EXACT steps that cause the bug
for me:

1) Start AbiWord.
2) Type 'This is a test.<enter>'
3) Drop the font face combo box (the middle one) by clicking on the
arrow.
4) Click 'Arial' to choose the Arial font.
5) Type 'This ' - the combo box drops as soon as you type the space.

System is Linux 2.2.6/i386, RedHat 5.2 plus recent GNOME RPMS.
Gtk is installed via RPM:
        gtk+-1.2.1-7
        gtk+10-1.0.6-4.1
        gtk+-devel-1.2.1-7

gtk-engines-0.5-11 is installed and ~/.gtkrc specifies:
        include "/usr/share/themes/Metal/gtk/gtkrc"

What else can I give you? I have AbiWord built *without* debug right
now, but I can re-build it if necessary...

Have fun,
