 I can't understand a word of the text :(  but we might see if he can check
 his version of GTK.  If he's compiling off of slink, he will NOT have the
 correct version of GTK.  He'll have to get potato's GTK... or he can just
 get the potato abiword debs and the other debs it depends on...
