I believe the problem is that you have a directory abi/abi, which
should be deleted. I had a similar problem earlier. I think some patch
(qnx?) got committed a level too deep, which temporarily caused abi/abi to
appear. After it was removed from the server, old cvs checkouts (with
abi/abi) croaked, like you described.
