I agree. and this is not the only list set up like that. Administrators seem
to favor it as though it will reduce unecessary traffic, but I beleive it
doesn't reduce traffic the slightes bit, but merely makes everyone work a
lot harder and suffer increased frequency of mistakes to generate the exact
same traffic.

I never decided not to post a message to a list based on the reply-to. if I
believ the content will be interesting to anyone else then I go out of my
way to post to a list, if I believe the content is too specific or local to
be of any relevance to anyone besides me and the recipient, then I go out of
my way to be sure and send only to them directly.

it's stupid.
