I hate to disagree, but the linux build does not build.
whilst compiling almost all files complained of an implicit declaration to int
assert(...
obviously, this resulted in:

this has been happening in the last few days. Its not the kernel, I have built abiword
previously whith this kernel.
just to make myself sure, I run 'cvs -z3 co abi abidistfiles expat libpng unixfonts wv
zlib libiconv' this morning. Same result.
just a few minutes ago, I run 'cvs -z3 update abi abidistfiles expat libpng unixfonts
wv zlib libiconv'.
same result.
this happens with and without gnome.
