Code Cleanup

This has been bugging me since I submitted the Dynamic Zoom patches.  I knew
there had to be a way to impliment the feature without breaking the xap/ap
separation in the build.  After stewing on it for a while it hit me.  As a
result I am submitting this patch.  Additionally, it cleans up the code
written.

It has been tested on both Windows and Linux builds and I don't beleive it
breaks anything for BeOS or QNX.
