Version string?!?

Is it just me, or is it impossible to display the version of AbiWord?
The Check Version menu item opens a web page displaying goodies that
are available in new versions - but it does not tell what the version
of the running AbiWord is.

The About AbiWord Personal menu item contains "Version: unnumbered"
