The generation of metric and encoding files from ttf fonts is now 
fully automated; to use a ttf font one just needs to add it to the 
fonts directory and create an appropriate entry in fonts.dir.

Also, removed an unused variable from main in 
tools/ttf2uafm/unix/ttf2uafm.c
