        I am not aware of ANY Unicode-based Type 1 fonts.  Usually,
when you wish to do Unicode with T1 fonts, you use a CMAP (or the
equivalent thereof) to map between some other encoding and the glyphs
in the font.

        On the other hand, there are a number of TrueType fonts for Unicode...
