awww, hypermail ignored my PRE tags

Bummer.  After making those pretty ASCII tables, I even inserted some PRE 
tags in hopes that they'd look nice in the mailing list archives.  No such 
luck. 

If anyone knows how to fool hypermail in cases like this, let me know.
