For gnome, this uses the default browser registered for gnome_url_open().
For windows it uses the browser ultimately obtained from your registry. For
GTK+ it uses a convoluted scheme of fallbacks (kde, mozilla, netscape). QNX
uses the default QNX browser voyager. BeOS uses the default Be browser (i.e.
launches the app registered to handle displaying "text/html" content).
The GTK+ build is the only port that _might_ need a "preference" at this
point, though I might suggest a re-ordering of the fallbacks.
