If you mean bug 1267, no, it's still there.

I run AbiWord. I never have a visible cursor at the insertion point. Other 
people running on LinuxPPC have reported the same thing.

So, to reproduce: buy a Macintosh, install LinuxPPC, and install AbiWord. 
Then run. :-)
