Sorry for my late response but I'm just wondering
if this is XP code or *nix only.  Since Windows seems
to handle these kinds of fonts in its rendering code.
Maybe this is not the case with non-bidi Win95 for
instance, and maybe not for non-Windows, non-*nix
OSes.  I just wanted to pose the question in case it
need to be thought about at all.
