I'm going to go ahead and copy your question to the developer's mailing list 
and see if anyone knows the answer.  I don't personally work with the BiDi 
stuff but know that it's still around.  

Developers--

What is the state of BIDI?  I remember a discussion about making the BIDI 
build the default build for win32... how has this come along?  Is there a 
convenient way for end users to get a BiDi-enabled package?
