Right now plugins are own their own for localization because there is no
really good way currently to integrate a plugin's strings into the
AbiWord strings subsystem. This really isn't a huge problem *at the
moment* because only the AikSaurus thesaurus plugin dialog has
meaningful translatable strings. That's not too much of an issue now
because the thesaurus only works with en-US (ok, you'll get reasonable
results with en-*)

This is, however, one of the many problems on the horizon for us and
plugins (Tamlin also points out the problems with cross-boundary memory
management). We'll need to think about how to properly handle this for
more sophisticated (in every sense of the word) plugins.
