The concensus on the list was that we should not modify the user's X configuration files, and that includes the fonts server's config (there is a potenial for serious problems resulting, quite appart from some people not liking things like that being done behind their backs), and also this issue is specific to RH, while the rpms can be used elsewhere. There is some new code in place now which will alert the user when they first start AW if there is a problem with their font path and point them to an explanation in the FAQ section of the help file, so this should not cause any problems in the forthcoming 0.9.6 release.
