Just a quick note to explain the Solaris port status:
Build with diving make, GTK only, given that you hack a couple of environment variables. autoconf build does not work. Will fix that. Test on Solaris 2.6. Other packaging issues to fix too. Target release is 1.0 as Dom said, at least with GTK only. For GNOME I need a machine I can install the stuff on [*] Hub [*] hardware donation accepted :-)
