Currently we store and export document metadata. Unfortunately, this hasn't been ported over to use UCS4 and is thus limited to ascii (or any single-byte char encoding).
I'll make us import the metadata next and then get things working with UCS4. Then I'll add a document properties dialog under the 'File' menu. Dom
