That may be a suitable package for inclusion in the set of abi-requisite libraries. Akin to iconv. Failing that we're doomed to provide an XP wrapper to fontconfig, which seems irritating.

The printer drivers generally provide a configurable map from screen to printer fonts to avoid downloading fonts that are already present in the printer.
