I dont know if anyone else has already mentioned this yet.
I just bought the September issue of Linux Journal although it seems i manage to get it just before the next issue was about to come out but that means and as you can already read the archived copy on the web for free (although i encourage you to buy a copy of Linux Journal, it's a good read). Anyway, abiword gets a favourable mention. They also explain how to sort out font nastiness that may occur.
