cvs diff -u > patchfile

is the preferred way to send patches. Also, patches should be attachments to emails, and not in the email body itself.

diff -Naur abi abi.mod > mod.patch

which does a recursive diff on the whole tree.

Also, is it OK to just claim any non-assigned bugs?
