"can't open font" at startup

Hi,
today, I compiled abiword again, after some time. I used latest CVS. I compiled with xft.

However, when I try to start it, I get lots and lots of these messages:
.DEBUG: Impossible to open font file [/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/UTRG__12-ISO8859-1.pcf.gz] [0]
(with other font names, too)

and Abiword never seems to start up.

Any ideas?
