This seems to be a bug with some configurations
Do you have a empty fonts.dir file in /usr/share/abisuite/fonts and a
file name encodings.dir instead.
You can remove this file . then deinstall abisuite-0.7.12.i386.rpm then
reinstall . abiword should work then . however when you will stop your
computer you will be under the same situation as before....
